PLACEMENTS WITH THE FRENCH DESK

Pritchard Englefield Solicitors offers French placements or “Stages” from time to time.  The placements are within the “French Desk” of the firm and are usually for three months.

The “French Desk” comprises 12 solicitors, usually bilingual in English and French in the main areas of law such as corporate and commercial law, employment law, commercial litigation, commercial property law and laws relating to private individuals (family law and estate & probate).

Our criteria when considering any application are that the candidate should: 

• hold as a minimum a Master 2/LLM (or equivalent) in law;
• have already spent one academic year in the United Kingdom or in an Anglo-Saxon country studying the laws of these countries;
• be fluent in French (to a native level);
• be fluent in English and possess a good knowledge of English legal terms and concepts;
• ideally, have had good work experience in a law firm or as an in-house lawyer/intern in a multinational environment.
